Yaron Ben-gera Design / Clinic Conversion
Yaron Ben-gera Design
“An unusual project for which a customer contacted Yaron, asking him to convert an old 38 Sq m clinic, located in a 60-year-old building, into a spacious, practical residential apartment.
“I saw an immense challenge in this type of project, one in which you need to create a comfortable, modern living environment out of an old, small space; it made me think of exceptionally creative solutions”, noted Yaron Iftah Ben-Gera. The work began with the demolishing of the existing facility, and then proceeding with the design and refurbishing of the electrics, plumbing, lighting and plaster. In addition, surfacing and sealing work was done in order to strengthen the structure and enhance its appearance.
The “open apartment” design concept chosen by Yaron manifests itself in the allocation of the open space into four areas: bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. The different areas are divided by glass walls rather than concrete or drywall partitions, in order to facilitate privacy and prevent total pacification.
Contrast of floor and ceiling colors (brown and white), manipulation of the lighting, planning and design of modular furniture (such as the rotating television console), differential lowering of ceilings, a central mirror, 3-D pictures and more, have given the place both warmth and openness; furthermore, they have enabled maximum utilization of area and perfect compatibility with the customer’s needs.
The high-quality materials used were carefully selected by Yaron himself, in order to ensure durability and comfort over time.”
