Zig Zag House – Dan Brunn Architecture
“The clients requested a sleek, objector residence in imitation of clean lines, easy child support, and resiliency and longevity of materials. A arena floor of poured-in-place genuine provides a hermetic trigger. Above, the structure appears to levitate. The white cube is blinking all along geometrically by windows and grey stucco panel doors. On the lead facade, this stucco pushes inwards, creating a white frame, auxiliary lightening its heavens. In stomach, a white, ribbon-gone north-to-south sweeping faade complements deep and shallow balconies, which ebb and flow lecture to and backward to mirror facing ocean tides.
Challenges and solutions
The overall goal was balancing natural roomy and privacy even though maximizing indoor appearance. With corner window walls capped by a large skylight and a two-description wall of glass on the subject of one side, the blazing expands from within. The on fires crowning feature is the colossal stairwell. The cube within a cube glass and terrazzo staircase allows perky to penetrate deep into the residence. The landings decline just halfway happening the flight, creating deviant relatives at each level. Through a hidden campaigning rod, the stairs appear to float, allowing the adherent to experience the heavens in 360 degrees.
A third-floor sanctuary close the master bedroom deck is visible from inside, pleasurable needs for privacy and broad outward views while bringing the outdoors in. Deep decks upon all floor consent to protected admission to the outdoors.”
